Sleepy & Boo are certainly no strangers to the New York City electronic music circuit, and we’re proud to have ‘The Capability EP’ for their debut on 3Bridge Records. This three-track release of solid techno is fully capable of getting a dance floor moving, all night long.
‘Alignment’ gets things started right out of the gate, with solid shuffling percussion and a rumbling bass line laying the groove foundation. Synth pads and whispering vocals swell in and out, creating a cavernous warehouse sound, along with subtle melodic flourishes that give it soul. ‘Acceptance’ has a similar feel, only this time the music goes a bit darker, with chaotic arpeggiation underneath the groove, and thick square bass hits that drive it. You need a techno jam for a 5am set? Look no further. ‘Articulate’ is the most house influenced tune on the EP, with its kick and layered cymbals as the main percussive elements, coupled with jacking chicago-house type stabs that keep the rhythms going until the very end.
