New York City producers Sleepy & Boo return to 3Bridge Records with their second release, ‘The Innocent EP’. These three tracks showcase their deeper, more melodic side, and it’s a great counterpoint to ‘The Capability EP’ that was released in March. This EP highlights their diversity as producers, and it drops right in time to welcome the warmer months of Summer ahead.
Lead track ‘Innocent’ is an anthemic instant classic, with a steady percussive flow, and subtle melodic chord and bass changes throughout. Strings and synth leads shine on the top end and eventually the track builds into a colossal, beautiful number that will have everyone on the dance floor cheering and hollering for more. This track has been met with rapturous response in all of Sleepy & Boo’s recent sets. ‘Humble’ straddles the line between deep house and techno, with filtered out tinges of acid-touched riffs, classic house pads, and echoed vocals that propel it forward. And ‘Overcome’ is replete with a dreamy aural palette, paradoxically stacked against fast-paced arpeggios that create great movement and rhythm. For prime-time dancefloors and afterhours alike, ‘The Innocent EP’ is a solid addition to the 3Bridge Records catalog and Sleepy & Boo’s discography.
